Movie Review: The Darjeeling Limited
This movie trip is unusual, a bit strange as only family themes in Wes Andersen’s films can be. I liked “The Darjeeling Limited” but I think I’d like it even more if I see it a few more times. This is what happened when I watched “The Royal Tenenbaums” for the first time. By the second viewing I found even more humor and clever dialogue I hadn’t caught before. His character studies in movies is certainly unique, unusual and always entertaining.
The trio of talented actors providing the brotherly love (or hate as the case might be) of Owen Wilson, Adrian Brody and Jason Schwartzman are well cast. When it comes to strange, uncomfortable and funny moments in family life Wes Andersen does it right. Solid direction as usual and a unique storyline by Andersen keeps your interest throughout the movie. The art direction was excellent on this film, capturing the colors of the country of India, the costuming of traditional clothing was beautiful and the intricate train decor artwork amazing. There are some serious moments in this film but mostly you find how odd family life can be and how when we relate to one another so seriously how seriously funny it can be.

2007. Directed and written by Wes Andersen. Starring Owen Wilson, Adrian Brody and Jason Schwartzman.
