Movie Review: No Reservations

This romantic comedy has its moments and is an charming film due to its trio of acting stars. What I enjoyed was the setting in the restaurant and the opposing lead characters who connect. I like Aaron Eckhart as an actor and here he’s playing a different kind of character than he is usually cast in. He and Catherine Zeta-Jones play well together but the best moments are when Abigail Breslin is onscreen. She is very talented as was evident in “Little Miss Sunshine” and here is no exception. She has some very real moments of pain from a child who has lost her parent. There are cliche moments in the script but all in all it is different and refreshing take on the usual stable of romantic comedies. If you like romantic comedies this is an above average one to see.

2007. Directed by Scott Hicks. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Abigail Breslin and Patricia Clarkson.
