Movie Review: Semi-Pro
This was a pretty funny movie. Ok so parts are stupid funny. Sometimes that really works and you know Will Ferrell is one of the funniest guys around. The movie was panned by some critics but I think its worth seeing. As usual Will Ferrell is great and has some funny lines throughout the movie. At one point he sings an R & B song, dresses in Vegas style costume and wrestles a bear, all in an attempt to promote his less than perfect basketball team.
There are good performances from standby comic actors such as Will Arnett, Andy Richter and Rob Corddry along with Woody Harrelson as the old pro basketball player of the bunch and Maura Tierney as his love interest. This is quirky comedy, the kind you’d see Farrell playing on Saturday Night Live skits, kinda out there and certainly not your standard comedy film. This may not be “40 Year Old Virgin” but if you want some easy laughs and goofy comedy this film is a fun one to watch.
