If you are fans of the Simpson cartoon series you know what to expect. As usual the Simpsons are fun, silly and comment on society. Oh and those great characters too. “The Simpsons Movie” is everything you’d expect onscreen and maybe a little more. Never a dull moment, the animation is great and the voice talent rocks. The storyline was entertaining but perhaps not as extreme as the half hour shows on TV. In the movie medium it would be harder to keep so many ideas running during the length of the movie. The creators seem to be successful at keeping the arch of the story going without losing the original feel for the TV series but the sharp wit of the TV show is not as evident in the movie.
Simpson fans should enjoy the movie and anyone else who has never seen the TV series…well, where have you been?

2007. Directed by David Silverman. Written by Matt Groening and James L. Brooks. Starring the voice talent of Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer.
