Movie Review: Death At A Funeral
I rented “Death At A Funeral” from the previews I saw and because Peter Dinklage was in the movie. When this dysfunctional family attends the funeral of a man with a secret life, comedy ensues. I liked the film but I think the screenplay should have been beefed up. The direction is fine by Frank Oz and he captures the comedy in the story well. It could be the english humor in it, sometimes it plays well to american audiences and sometimes it doesn’t. The cast is uniformly good although there is not enough screen time for Peter Dinklage which is a shame. If you like english humor you will like this film. Its quirky but a nice character study of families dealing with each other when they are brought together under dark circumstances.

2007. Directed by Frank Oz. Starring Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes, Andy Nyman, Ewen Bremner, Daisy Donovan, Alan Tudyk, Jane Asher and Peter Dinklage.
