Movie Review: The Rocky Horror Picture Show
If you haven’t seen “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” this is a cult classic you must see. If you are easily offended by sexual situations or sexual preferences this film might not be for you (and part of the reason this subversive movie has become a cult classic). I watched “Rocky Horror” back in ’75 when the film first came out. It may be tame by today’s movie standards but it was as fun then as it is now to watch.
Written by Richard O’Brien, who plays handyman Riff Raff in the movie, this musical is original, campy and tongue-in-cheek fun. From Columbia (aptly named) to Rocky Horror, a creation of mad scientist Frank-N-Furter to innocents Brad and Janet, the music and script will keep you engaged and let you in on why this is a classic film. Tim Curry’s brilliant acting and singing rings perfect as Frank-N-Furter; O’Brien, Sarandon and Bostwick’s musical numbers are excellent and Meat Loaf’s musical number is terrific. If you are looking for crazed dance numbers, campy songs and an outrageous New Year’s Eve movie to watch, try “Rocky Horror” and see what all the midnight movie showings and sing-a-longs are about.

1975. Directed by Jim Sharman. Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O’Brien, Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell, Jonathan Adams, Peter Hinwood and Meat Loaf.
