Movie Review: Date Night

Phil and Claire Foster, a middle aged New York couple, tries to keep their marriage alive with a weekly date night while dealing with kids and careers. Desperate to change up their routine, Phil suggests they try a trendy restaurant. When they steal another couples dinner reservation, a case of mistaken identity turns their romantic evening into a much more exciting evening than they had planned for.

Date Night is a fun, well written and well acted comedy that makes the most of the comic skills of Steve Carell and Tina Fey, who manage to use their improv skills to best advantage. The screenplay is original, filled with great bits and funny lines. The direction, pacing and timing of the comedy is classic, and the supporting cast is great. Date Night is high caliber all around, a comedy you will want to add to your must see list.

2010. Directed by Shawn Levy. Starring Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, Mark Wahlberg, Mark Ruffalo, James Franco, Mila Kunis, and Ray Liotta.
