Movie Review: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

After Will Rodman finds a baby monkey whose mother dies, he decides to take him home and name him Caesar. The problem? Rodman was supposed to put the baby monkey down because he was a product of genetic engineering at Rodman’s place of work. Over the next several years Rodman raises Caesar as one of his own along with his veterinary girlfriend and his Alzheimer’s ridden father. Caesar, however, starts to realize that he is different. He is unsure if he is a pet or a person since he is so mentally advanced but still an animal that has to be leashed. After an accident lands Caesar in a sanctuary for monkeys that turns out to be anything but a safe haven, he starts to see that he can make all of the apes intelligent. Caesar turns from a friend to a foe after being faced with a harsh reality and the pain of betrayal and ultimately develops a plan of rebellion. Thus ensues an all out battle for supremacy over the humans begins yielding The Planet of the Apes
