Movie Review: Paul
Two British comic-book geeks are traveling to Comic-Con then traveling across the U.S. in a rented rented RV. Sci-fi fans Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings are excited about Comic-Con and hope to sell their comic book creation there. When they travel to Area 51 they encounter an alien who is trying to escape earth their far different than what they expected from outerspace.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost create an enjoyable film with great writing and endearing, funny characters. Paul is a buddy film of sorts, only this time the two guys also have an alien buddy to tag along. There are excellent comic performances by Pegg, Frost, and Wiig as well as strong comic performances from the supporting cast. The mix of Pegg and Frost’s British accents combined with Rogen’s laid back voice is a fun combo that works well here.
If you are looking for a fun movie with some great writing Paul is a good one to include on your movie list.
